This documentary highlights Woolly Mammoth and the owners Adam and Skye Rust. Located in Andersonville on Chicago’s north side, they describe the store as a “curiosity cabinet of resurrected treasures,” a “motionless zoo,” and a “touchable museum.” I developed the concept, interviewed, shot, edited, designed motion graphics and wrote the music for this piece. In fact, I had no help with this production other than the answers provided by the store owners and a couple of Woolly Mammoth regulars without whom, this strange and amazing beast would not exist. "Woolly Mammoth specializes in items that were, um, previously living? Or as they like to say, "resurrected from the past." What does that mean exactly? Well, you'll find vintage and antique taxidermy for starters. Plus, lots of anatomy items, medical stuffs, skull bones (of all kinds), skeletons, military and funerary items, art and so on. It's hard to say just what you'll find when you open the door, but one thing is for sure—it's always a ridiculously creepy-cool adventure."

LONELY PLANET

"Woolly Mammoth Antiques & Oddities is part morbid curiosity shop, part art installation. Creepy doll heads, a stuffed wallaby, a jar of old dentures, the record book from an insane asylum – all here, and then some. Set designers often come here for props."
